While pig production in Asia has increased exponentially in the past few decades, it has shrunk considerably in Western Europe. Besides this decrease, the European pig population is divided among a small number of large farms. As a result, pig farmers, now more than ever, focus on the entrepreneurial side of the business and on technological development at farm level. At the same time, they have to take animal welfare, public opinion, legislation and the environment into consideration. The International Pig Management programme prepares you for the job of developing profitable business strategies as a pig farming advisor, a pig farm manager, or as a pig farm owner.

Farming puts a smile on your face
You know this programme is the one for you if farming and pig farming in particular put a smile on your face. Because, although this programme is business-oriented, the sector that it prepares you for is very specific and most of your fellow students either come from (pig) farming families or are into livestock farming in general.

Aeres University of Applied Sciences is the first of its kind to receive the special Certificate of Entrepreneurship.
