Programme content

The two-year programme International Horticulture & Management of Aeres University of Applied Sciences Dronten prepares you for your future role in international horticulture. You will study in Dronten and also spend some time at ESA Angers, France. During your study programme, you will learn more about various production systems and carry out various assignments in the field of high-tech plant production systems. We will also prepare you for the international horticultural field in the areas of financial, strategic and business management.

During the period in France, you will immerse yourself in plant breeding and experimentation. You will study topics like plant pathology, genetics and crop protection. How could plant breeding be used to respond to the climate challenges we are facing?

In the second year you will choose your field of specialisation: entrepreneurship, breeding or horticultural advisor. You will join two minors in your chosen field of specialisation, do an internship and write your graduation thesis.

Admission requirements
- Completion of at least two years of university studies in a related subject relevant to the study programme, in such a way that the resulting combined study pathway is plausible in its entirety.
- A minimum score of 550 in the TOEFL English test or a formally recognized equivalent, such as the IELTS (level 6.0) or IBT (79).
- The ability to formulate coherently in written English, and to have a vision of international horticulture and management. Essay writing is part of the admission procedure.
- Strong motivation for success in the sector.
- Team spirit and a flexible attitude in an international working environment.
