About Sander Lourens

Sander Lourens has been a member of the Poultry Research Team at Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Dronten since 2018. Previously, he worked for the Livestock Research Department at Wageningen UR as a poultry researcher on the subject of chain collaboration and productivity.

He started his poultry career at Poultry Farming Practical Research ‘Het Spelderholt’ in Beekbergen as a researcher on the subject of breeding and incubation. He researched how these sectors influence the performance of offspring. Together with students, colleagues and poultry farmers, he is currently working on poultry chain projects that focus on improving the health and performance of the animals at all levels. He is associated as a poultry expert at the Poultry Expertise Center of Aeres in Barneveld, and since 2023, he is a research manager of the Practical Research Team.
