About Esmond Wesselink

Esmond Wesselink has been a researcher-project leader with the Innovation & Green Urban Space research group at Aeres University of Applied Sciences Almere since 2022. He works on climate-resilient and healthy urban development, among others within the project Excellente Groene en Gezonde Leefomgeving. In the Groeifondsproject Toekomstbestendige Leefomgeving, Esmond focuses on scaling up the biobased construction chain through the realisation of a living lab with biobased homes, among other initiatives.

In addition to his work at Aeres, Esmond is developing a nature-inclusive holiday park with biobased lodges in the Achterhoek (region in the Eastern Netherlands). Esmond holds a bachelor's degree in Earth and Economy and a master's degree in Hydrology from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and he also gained experience as geohydrologist at the engineering firm Witteveen+Bos.
