About Agnes van den Pol - van Dasselaar

Agnes van den Pol – van Dasselaar has been working as a professor for Aeres University of Applied Sciences since 2015. Her research focuses on all aspects of grasslands and grazing. She is especially interested in the different functions of grasslands (ecosystem services), in the mindset of cattle farmers and their environments, and in multi-stakeholder processes. She obtained her doctorate with a thesis on ‘Methane emissions of grasslands’. Subsequently, she worked for Wageningen UR for 20 years.

On behalf of Aeres University of Applied Sciences, she leads several national and international research projects, such as ‘Knowledge for grasslands and pasturing’, Healthy Pastures’, ‘Pathways’, and Grazing4AgroEcology’. Besides Aeres University of Applied Sciences employees and students, many other parties from the Netherlands and from abroad are involved. Agnes is also the residing President of the European Grassland Federation.
