Become a professional who helps drive change

How do you help people move forward when there is no simple answer?

Climate change, biodiversity loss and tensions between people, planet and prosperity create complex challenges across land-based sectors. These issues rarely have one obvious solution.

During The Green Change Agent, you learn how to work with different perspectives, support change and reflect on your own role as a professional. You explore how education, collaboration and critical thinking can help sectors move towards more sustainable practices.

The programme positions teachers, green change agents and innovators as important facilitators of change in sectors facing complex transitions.

Is this programme for you?

The Blended Intensive Programme is intended for students from ENTER partner institutions who are interested in problem solving, connecting people and perspectives, personal and professional development, collaboration and working in English.

  • You enjoy solving complex problems

    You are curious about issues where different interests, values and perspectives come together. Rather than looking for the quickest answer, you want to understand what is really happening and explore different ways forward.

  • You want to help others develop

    You are interested in teaching, coaching, training or supporting others. You want to learn how to translate sustainability and change into meaningful learning experiences.

  • You are open to new perspectives

    You enjoy working with people from different countries and professional backgrounds. You are willing to question your own assumptions, reflect on your professional identity and try new ways of thinking.

What will you learn?

During the Programme, you develop a broad set of skills that help you contribute to change in land-based sectors.

  • Understand sustainability
    Explore concepts such as circular economy, energy efficiency, resource conservation, climate impacts and sustainability practices within different professional sectors.
  • Teach and facilitate change
    Learn how to integrate sustainability into education and training, use experiential and problem-based learning and support learners in developing sustainable professional behaviour.
  • Lead and inspire
    Explore how you can encourage students, colleagues and organisations to adopt new practices and guide others through change.
  • Collaborate across disciplines
    Work with people from different professional backgrounds and learn how to connect education, industry, communities and different areas of expertise.
  • Think critically and innovate
    Question existing approaches, explore alternatives and develop new methods for tackling complex sustainability challenges.
  • Develop your professional identity
    Reflect on your qualities, values, preferences, talents and professional role, using the Model of Professional Identity as part of the learning process.

These themes are based directly on the seven learning-objective areas described in the programme: sustainability literacy, sector knowledge, pedagogical skills, leadership, collaboration, innovation and transformative soft skills.

The programme combines online preparation with an intensive on-site week in Wageningen.

Programme fee

Participation in the programme itself is free of charge.

Erasmus+ funding

Eligible participants can receive an Erasmus+ allowance for travel, accommodation and subsistence, provided the required documentation is completed.

Accommodation

Aeres University of Applied Sciences Wageningen will arrange suitable accommodation. According to the programme information, these costs can be covered through the Erasmus grant.

Can you participate?

This BIP is intended for students who:

  • study at one of the ENTER partner institutions;
  • are interested in complex problem solving;
  • want to connect people and perspectives;
  • are open to new ways of thinking;
  • are willing to collaborate and build bridges;
  • are able to work in English.

There is space for approximately 20 international students, plus counsellors.
