Explore how farming can adapt to change

How do you keep producing food when the conditions keep changing?

Arable farming is facing increasing environmental, economic and societal pressures. In the Netherlands, challenges such as water scarcity, salinisation, labour shortages, changing regulations and competition for land are already affecting agricultural businesses.

During this international programme, you use the Netherlands as a living case. You investigate these challenges, discover how farmers and businesses are responding and explore which solutions could also work in your own country.

The goal isn't simply to copy the Dutch approach. It's to learn from it, question it and translate useful ideas to different agricultural contexts.

The BIP is intended for students and teachers interested in arable farming, horticulture, sustainability and entrepreneurship.

These elements are all explicitly part of the programme, including expert lectures, excursions, workshops, a real-world case and a closing presentation of solutions.

How does the programme work?

The BIP combines online preparation with an intensive on-site week in Dronten and is worth a total of 3 ECTS.

Participation in the programme itself is free of charge.

Erasmus+ funding

EU funding is available to contribute towards travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses, provided participants complete the required documentation.
