Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Wageningen provides both Associate Degrees, Bachelor courses and Master courses to national students:

Associate degrees

The Associate degree courses are mainly focused on practical trainers and workshop leaders in vocational schools and in companies. The programmes are arranged in both fulltime and part-time courses.

Bachelors

Our Bachelor courses are offered in a full-time and part-time arrangement as well. Graduates are specialized in transfer of skills and knowledge in agriculture, landbased and nature based or consumptive studies. Over 50% of the graduates are employed as teachers / trainers in agricultural, landbased, nature based or Consumptive pre-vocational and secondary vocational education. Many of the others are employed as trainers, advisors, consultants and extension specialists (Knowledge managers). 50% are fulltime students, 50% part-time students.

Master

The master courses are offered on part-time basis. Focus in these programmes is mainly oriented on educational development, leadership and approaching innovations and complex changes in (school)organizations and management. Students are mainly teachers in the land-based sector and they need to have at least two year teaching experience before entering a study course.

Based on recent developments

The curricula are competence based and development of all courses has been based on recent labour market research. The courses are offered in strong cooperation with the labour market, the field, the sector and 50% of the learning takes place on the job. 98% of the graduates find a suitable job in their qualification area, within 3 months.

International cooperation

Aeres University of applied sciences is strongly associated with its partners in the international field. We have long-term partnerships with schools, training institutions, teacher training units, educational institutions and research associations across the world. We keep our contacts alive in various collaborations through projects, valorization, common research and knowledge sharing and by participation in various international networks.

  • EUROPEA: EUROPEA is an association working for the development of vocational education and training (VET) in the green sector of Europe. This sector covers a wide field of professions within agriculture, horticulture, forestry etc.
  • ENTER: The European Network of Learning and Teaching in Agriculture and Rural Development. It is a European association of educational institutions in the field of teacher training for secondary and higher vocational schools in agriculture, forestry, horticulture and related subjects.
    The founding institutes have decided to join on an international level in order to develop their scientific and pedagogical cooperation in initial and in/service teacher training. ENTER is an exchange platform for professional experience, knowledge, skills, methods in green, rural, agricultural and forestry education and research.
  • EAPRIL: The European Association for Practitioner Research on Improving Learning (EAPRIL) promotes practice-based research on learning issues in the context of initial, formal, lifelong and organizational learning. EAPRIL is unique in bringing together those who are interested in the crossroads between research and practice but also between education and professional learning.
